Engineering Capabilities

How we engineer
private shelters.

Jaytra integrates five engineering disciplines into every shelter — structural design, CBRN air protection, off-grid power, life support, and hardened communications. Each component is specified to sovereign defence standards. Every calculation is site-specific.

Engineering Philosophy

Three principles behind every shelter.

01

Layered Protection Design

No single system provides complete protection. Jaytra shelters integrate multiple independent layers — structural, atmospheric, environmental, and communication — so failure of one never compromises the whole.

02

Systems Integration

A bunker is a system of systems — structural shell, air filtration, power, water, waste, and communications — all engineered to function as one integrated environment. Jaytra operates as a systems integrator, not a fabricator.

03

Infrastructure-Grade Reliability

Equipment has a lifespan. Infrastructure is built for generations. Every material, every component, every design decision is made for 25+ year operational life with minimal maintenance. This is permanent family infrastructure.

Engineering Doctrine

Engineering principles behind
every Jaytra project.

Every Jaytra project is approached as long-term protective infrastructure — not a product. These five principles guide every structural, mechanical, and systems decision we make, from first consultation to handover.

Site-Specific Engineering

No two sites behave the same. Structural, soil, and seismic calculations are performed individually for every project — never copied. Each shelter is engineered for its exact geological and environmental context.

Layered Protection by Design

Every critical system — power, air, water, communications — has independent backups. No single point of failure. Protection is engineered in overlapping layers so failure of one never compromises the whole.

Redundancy in Life-Support

Water, air, and hydration systems operate with multiple independent redundancies. If one source fails, another takes over automatically — ensuring continuous life support for extended occupancy periods.

Reliability Before Complexity

Specification decisions prioritise proven reliability over feature complexity. Defence-grade components, European and American sourced — engineered to function under extreme conditions, maintained by simple protocols.

Controlled & Discreet Execution

Installation, coordination, and handover are conducted with full confidentiality. Unmarked vehicles, NDA-first engagements, and discreet site logistics. Your project is not a case study.

Discipline 01

Structural Shell

Structural Engineering

The structural shell is the foundation of every Jaytra shelter. High-grade steel with transverse lattice beam reinforcement, designed to withstand compressive soil pressure, seismic forces, blast loads, and long-term corrosion — all calculated for your specific site conditions.

  • FEMA 453 blast resistance
  • FEMA TR-87 safe room criteria
  • Site-specific load calculations
  • PF 1000+ radiation shielding
  • Corrosion, fire, waterproof
  • Seismic Zone II–V rated

India-specific: Every structural calculation accounts for Indian soil — black cotton, laterite, alluvial, Deccan rock. Water table depth varies 3–5m between monsoon and summer. Seismic loading follows zone-specific requirements. No generic imported calculations.

Discipline 02

European & US Sourced

CBRN Air Filtration

Multi-stage NBC filtration sourced from European and American defence-grade suppliers. Pre-filter, HEPA filtration to 0.3 microns, and activated carbon for chemical agent adsorption. Positive internal pressure ensures air flows outward if the shelter envelope is breached.

  • Pre-filter + HEPA 0.3μm
  • Activated carbon adsorption
  • Positive internal pressure
  • Overpressure blast valves
  • Manual crank backup
  • Chemical & biological agent protection

India-adapted: Filtration stages are selected for Indian air quality conditions — higher particulate loads, monsoon humidity, and seasonal pollution events. Filter replacement schedules are calibrated for local environmental conditions, not generic OEM recommendations.

Discipline 03

Entry & Envelope

Blast Resistant Bunker Entry

Reinforced protective entry systems designed for secure bunker access and pressure resistance. Gas-tight, blast-proof doors and emergency escape hatches — engineered to protect the shelter envelope against blast waves, fallout, airborne biological agents, and chemical gases.

  • Blast-rated door assemblies
  • Gas-tight sealing systems
  • Emergency escape hatches
  • Pressure equalization valves
  • Mechanical override locking
  • Corrosion-protected finish

Discipline 04

Off-Grid Systems

Power, Water & Life Support

Triple-redundant off-grid power combining solar, generator, and battery bank systems — EMP-shielded switchgear, designed for 100–300+ days of autonomy. Water purification through UV and activated carbon stages, with sealed waste management and long-term food storage infrastructure.

  • Solar + generator + battery
  • EMP-shielded switchgear
  • UV + carbon water purification
  • Sealed waste management
  • Long-term food storage
  • HVAC & environmental control

Discipline 05

Continuity Systems

Hardened Communications

EMP-shielded voice, data, and emergency communications infrastructure. Satellite uplink, secure radio, and wired redundancy — designed to maintain connection with the outside world even under infrastructure collapse or electromagnetic attack conditions.

  • EMP-shielded equipment bay
  • Satellite uplink capability
  • Secure radio systems
  • Wired redundancy
  • Emergency beacon integration
  • Internal intercom network
